Special Easter hampers made their way to local care homes and the elderly in Workington. Students and staff from Workington Academy collected luxury items to create Easter hampers, which have been donated to local pensioners and care homes.
Recipients included neighbouring Stanbeck Residential Home, Richmond Park, Firth House as well as some student nominated local elderly residents. The Easter hampers were delivered by the students on the last day of the Easter Term. The hampers contained lots of Easter treats and goodies aimed at brightening the day and bringing well wishes from the Academy.
Miriam Wilson, Student Provision Officer said ‘We strongly believe that Easter is a special time of year and we want our local community to know that they are valued by us. The students and staff make a special effort to collect lots of goodies to share and it’s great to see how happy this makes our elderly community’
