Friday 22 April 2016 – St George’s Day Parade and Event – in conjunction with Beckstone Primary School
Workington Academy is supporting Beckstone Primary school with their St George’s Day Parade that is taking place on Friday 22 April 2016. The parade is set to be a spectacular event and will feature a range of costumes that Workington Academy Sixth Form Art students have helped to produce, including dragons, kings, princesses, St George and an impressively designed and decorated dragon’s head, which will be at the forefront of the parade. The parade will also feature some of our Workington Academy students and members of the Workington Academy Orchestra and Steel Pans band.
The parade will culminate on the Beckstone school field after a short trip around Harrington, beginning at Beckstone Primary school at 10.00am. As part of the St George’s Day celebration, there will also be members of the Workington Academy orchestra, choir, drama group and students reading pieces of their own ‘St George and the dragon’ themed English work performing and contributing to this spectacular show.
Parents, friends and relatives of Workington Academy students are also invited to be a part of this celebration, to watch the parade tour around Harrington and to join the events on the Beckstone school field. The parade will begin at 10am on Friday 22 April.
