Students from Year 8 & 9 played in the ‘allschools’ touch Rugby competition last month, sponsored by Canterbury at Twickenham Stadium, home of English Rugby.
The students had a tour of the stadium including going into the home dressing room and visiting the royal box and players suite. They also met four current England Women international players from the recent world cup winning squad. The girls spoke about the commitment and effort needed to play for your country and what it feels like to run out and play at Twickenham.
The students then played against teams from 5 other schools from all over the country on the Twickenham pitch, winning 2 games, losing 2 and drawing one. This meant they finished third in the group and narrowly missed out on a semi-final position against the overall winners.
