Further to our letter to you on 28 September 2016, we can confirm that Mr Jonathan Logan has decided to move on from his role as headteacher at Workington Academy.
Research has shown that there is a direct correlation between attendance and achievement. It is common sense that if a student is not in class then he or she is not learning.
It gives me great pleasure to write to you at the start of what is going to be a momentous year for the academy.
As the end of our first academic year approaches, I am writing to thank you for all your support throughout what has been a very rewarding and busy year.
Here at Workington Academy we aim to ensure that all our students are aware of the wide variety of careers available to them after their time here with us, we are therefore holding our first Futures Event for students and their families to attend.

Cumbria Constabulary have commissioned Applied Theatre specialists AlterEgo Creative Solutions to tour to schools and other suitable venues in our area with their highly innovative production ‘Chelsea’s Choice’.
