Wednesday 1 March 2017 – National Offers Day
Parents/Carers will be notified of which school your child has been allocated to. This will come via email if you applied online or via post if you applied through this method.
March 2017 – Confirmation of Places and Initial Transition Information
Mrs Macklin (Headteacher) and Miss Tweddle (Director of Learning – Year 7 & 8) will write to you to confirm your place at Workington Academy and to share upcoming transition information with you regarding key dates and events to support yourself and your child in making the step up to secondary school and Workington Academy in September 2017
March – April 2017 – Primary School Visits
Miss Tweddle and Miss Jones will conduct Primary school visits to meet all Year 6 students who will be joining us in September 2017.
Wednesday 26 April 2017– Year 6-7 Pre Admission Evening
Come along and find out all of the necessary information that you need to know about Workington Academy and how to prepare yourself and your child for starting with us in September 2017.
Friday 30 June 2017 – Year 6-7 Tutor Meeting Day
Come along to Workington Academy to meet your child’s new tutor. Individual 15 minute appointments will be scheduled throughout the day, so that you can discuss key information and ask any questions that you may have regarding starting at Workington Academy.
Wednesday 6 July 2017 – Year 6-7 Transition Day
All students are invited to spend the day at Workington Academy in their new form groups. They will conduct a range of team building activities with their new classmates and form tutor, as well as getting to know their way around the school building.
July – August 2017 – Year 6-7 Summer School
Join us at our Summer School, where you will have the opportunity to familiarise yourself with Workington Academy, spend time with your new peers and get to know some of our Workington Academy staff. Workington Academy Summer School provides a ‘not to be missed’ opportunity to spend time at your new school, participating in a variety of fun and interactive activities including sports, expressive arts, music, problem solving, technology and many more.
