On Tuesday, 7th March, ten Year 9 students had the opportunity to take part in the school winter games at the Chill Factore, the indoor ski slope in Manchester. Each school was given a Country to represent – ours was Finland. The morning session involved taking part in a ski taster session which then culminated in a time trial against the other schools. After lunch students took part in a team building activity where the had to find the parts of an igloo and work together to build it in the fastest time possible. The climbing wall presented the next challenge where again they were involved in a time trial, with the quickest team up the wall being the winners. The final session involved the teams racing on sledges, a luge run and an ice slide race! After all the results were counted we were crowned winners at the end of the day. The event provided a great opportunity for our students to experience some different sports and compete as a team, a big well done to all involved.
