A group of Key Stage 3 students were selected to work with BBC staff on the outdoor broadcast bus as part of BBC School Report 2017. They experienced writing, producing and filming their own weather reports (The Weather with Heather was particularly engaging). All students also got the chance to perform a radio play, and were encouraged to collate and create their own sound effects. Who knew that pasta could be so versatile?
As well as working on activities on the bus, our students were broadcast live on BBC Radio Cumbria. Staff from the BBC were extremely impressed with the behaviour and talent of our students. It’s safe to say that all of our budding reporters had a wonderful day and now have more insight into the world of news and media.
