This week’s Headteacher Student of the Week awards go to Connor and Abbie.
Connor Fitzwilliam has made a great start to life at Workington Academy. He has achieved the highest number of reward points in the school this week. He also went above and beyond in his Science home-learning, producing his own instructional video of how to make a home-made fire extinguisher. Connor has also been commented on by a number of teachers for creating an excellent first impression of himself and being the best he can be across a range of other subjects including German, Science, Maths and RE.
Abbie Parker is an excellent all-round student who is highly thought of by all of her teachers. She was nominated in French where she is excelling in all aspects of the course. She spent a lot of time over the summer holiday organising and revising her language work. Abbie has shown great resilience this week, as despite being under the weather she has worked as hard as ever in French and achieved well in all the challenging tasks which she was set.
Congratulations to our two winners who receive a gold star pin badge which they can wear for the rest of their time at the academy, along with a certificate and a photo opportunity with Mr Bird.
