Brothers Elliot (Year 9) and Zinedine (Year 7) Hodgson took part in the 13th World Championships, hosted by the World Karate Federation in Belgrade, Serbia between 15-17 November 2019.
Both Elliot and Zinedine did exceptionally well to qualify for this prestigious event and faced hard competition from tough competitors from all over the world at the event in Serbia.
At the event, Elliot was awarded the silver medal in his age category competition finishing in second place overall, whilst younger brother Zinedine was awarded the gold medal and was crowned World Champion in his age category.
Elliot and Zinedine are both members of the Hokushinko Karate and Martial Arts Club in Workington.
