Dear Year 6 students, parents and carers,
We are very excited that you are going to be joining ‘Team Year 7’ at Workington Academy 2020-21 and that you are all soon going to become part of our Workington Academy family.
Despite the current school closures making it difficult for us to organise any physical transition events for you to be involved in at present, please be assured that we are currently working hard behind the scenes in conjunction with your current primary school to make sure that you will still have a positive and smooth transition Workington Academy. We do not want you to worry about this.
Furthermore, as soon as we are able to offer any opportunities for you to visit Workington Academy and/or for us to visit yourselves at your primary schools, we will do so.
There will be a lot more key and exciting information coming out to you over the next few weeks, as well as further contact from myself that will enable you to get ready for your move to Workington Academy in September.
Thank you to everyone who has already returned their Workington Academy Admission Booklet and Student Profile Questionnaire to us. If you have not already done this, please can you get this to us asap – either by posting it back to us in the envelope that we provided or dropping this off at our Main Office, as part of your daily exercise or trip to the supermarket.
If you do have any questions or queries at any time – please do not hesitate to contact me at ntweddle@workingtonacademy.org
Please do also keep an eye on our Workington Academy social media pages and website that contains lots of information about our Academy for you. These are currently being updated regularly with student achievements and successes, examples of work produced and rewards that are still happening at Workington Academy despite the closure;
