We are delighted to announce that we have had confirmation from the UK Government that they will now support provision for students in receipt of Free School Meals throughout the six-week Summer
Holiday period.
This support will be provided in the form of a single voucher to the value of £90.00 for each individual child in receipt of Free School Meals. For families in receipt of Free School Meals, who have more than one child at Workington Academy, single vouchers of higher values may be ordered, to provide the equivalent monetary value.
The e-code(s) for your Summer holiday voucher provision will be ordered for you this week and you should receive this prior to the start of the Summer holidays.
You are to redeem your ‘Summer holiday e-code’ for your chosen supermarket voucher in the same way that you have been doing for your weekly vouchers to date.
Please note that this single voucher is to support you throughout the full six-week Summer holiday period and this voucher does not have to be redeemed in a single shopping trip.
This voucher can be used repeatedly until the voucher’s balance has reached £0.00. To check how much money is left on the eGift card, you can ask the supermarket’s customer services team, when in
store.
Please be aware that this will be the last e-code and FSM voucher that you will receive via this scheme. After this single voucher has been redeemed, there will be no further vouchers allocated to you from this point forward.
The Government are fully expecting all students to return to school full time from September and therefore from September onwards, Free School Meals will be provided in school for all students who are eligible for these, in the usual manner.
If you do have any further queries in regards to this, please check out the Parent/Carer User Guide, issued via Edenred: https://www.edenred.co.uk/Documents/DfE/DfE_FSM-voucher-scheme_Parent-Carer-Userguide.pdf
Yours sincerely
