Workington Academy staff have been granted a Certificate of Excellence by the Blackpool Virtual School. They have acknowledged the outstanding work Workington Academy has done as a school.
We have provided an outstanding ‘inclusive’ practice for Looked After children and have genuinely worked to identify suitable provision for each child’s needs. We have maintained contact during the Coronavirus pandemic with each Young Person and family. Offering ongoing support, going over and above by liaising with appropriate agencies to offer support for not only to the young person but also other family members.
Overall we were recognised for being a great example of how to take care of children from other Local Authorities.
