Dear Parents / Carers
We would like to take this opportunity prior to next week’s Half Term break to thank you for your continued support throughout what we know has been a challenging time for us all.
We recognise that the current school closure period presents difficulties and challenges for many of our students and families, who are currently balancing work, family and school life. We are delighted with the resilience, effort and engagement shown in our comprehensive remote home-learning programme, by the vast majority of our students, across all year groups. Through which, our students are continuing to study, build knowledge and make progress across all subject areas throughout this time.
As you may be aware, last week was National Children’s Mental Health Week and we ran a series of activities in Tutor Time throughout last week to focus on raising awareness of and supporting our students to improve their own mental health and wellbeing.
In addition to this, on Wednesday 10 February, we are running a ‘Pause, Rest and Reset’ Afternoon across our academy, which allows students to have some time away from their on-screen remote learning and focus on their own mental health and well-being. During this time throughout P4&5, we would like all students to complete a range of ‘off-screen’ activities, suggestions of which are below:
If your child is currently accessing learning from our school site, as part of our childcare hub, they will also take part in a range of off-screen and creative activities within the academy. Some of these activities may be outside and so all students attending school on Wednesday 10 February will need to bring a coat and a pair of trainers with them.
We would like all students to feedback to their tutors in regards to the activities that they choose to complete as part of our Pause, Rest and Reset Afternoon on Wednesday.
If you have any questions in regards to any of the information detailed above, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Yours sincerely,
Mr D Bird
Headteacher
