Dear Parent/Carer
Please be advised that we have had a confirmed case of Covid-19 in year 11. The student who has tested positive was sent home from school yesterday and we have been advised this morning that a LFT home test was positive. A PCR test is booked for today and the result will be available tomorrow. If the result changes, we will let you know.
Please be assured that following notification of the test result we have contacted all of the students and staff who have been a close contact of this student and asked them to self-isolate. If you have not been contacted by us, or by Track and Trace directly, then your child does not need to self-isolate.
I have written to you immediately, as I am aware that parents will be anxious about this development. This situation has happened in a number of schools across Cumbria, and as in other schools, we will take further direction from Public Health England. We will keep you updated as and when we receive further information.
