On Tuesday 30 March, eight Year 10 mathematicians participated in the AMSP Maths Feast, an educational challenge designed to test their problem solving and teamwork skills. The remote event was separated into 4 rounds, each one individually devised to assess the team’s ability to perform in different ways.
Throughout the day the Workington Academy students relished in the challenge and took each of the rounds in their stride as they consistently achieved high scores. The fabulous efforts from the students really payed off with a perfect score in round 3, a round centred around the year (and number) 2021. This perfect score helped one of the Workington Academy teams finish 3rd whilst the other finished a very respectable 6th out of the 14 teams, spanning 8 schools in Cumbria and Lancashire.
