Dear Parent/Carer
To minimise the transmission of Covid-19 in school we have produced a risk assessment for the re-opening of school on Monday 6 September. The full risk assessment is available here and below is a summary of measures we have put in place:
Ensuring good hand hygiene for everyone
Frequent and thorough hand cleaning should now be regular practice and we will support students to clean their hands regularly.
Keeping occupied spaces well ventilated
The school will be well ventilated throughout the day by using the existing ventilation system and opening external windows to maintain a flow of fresh air.
Regular cleaning throughout the school day
There will be regular cleaning of areas and equipment with a particular focus on frequently touched surfaces.
Following public health advice on testing and self-isolation
See below for guidance on when students should self-isolate.
Face coverings are no longer advised for pupils, staff and visitors either in classrooms or communal areas. The government has removed the requirement to wear face coverings in law but expects and recommends that they are worn on public transport and dedicated transport to school.
We will also ask students to use specific entrances at the start of the school day, see below for a list of the entrances for each year group:
Year group | Entry to school |
7 | Community Entrance |
8 | Community Entrance |
9 | Main Entrance |
10 | Main Entrance |
11 | Main Entrance |
12 and 13 | Student Services |
Students will queue in an orderly manner outside until directed into school by a member of staff and signage will be in place to direct students to their new tutor rooms.
I look forward to welcoming all our students back to the Academy next week.
Yours faithfully
Mark Bedford
Deputy Headteacher
