Dear Parent/Carer,
We are writing to inform you of the final arrangements for the end of this year’s GCSE exams and the end of year 11 school celebrations.
This year has presented some difficulties due to exams taking place on the afternoon of Friday, 16th June, which is when we would normally give out hoodies and have the leavers assembly. We have therefore had to make some slight amendments. We will still be giving out the leavers’ hoodies on Friday 16th June at 12:20pm. This is to allow students to collect their hoodies after the morning exam and before the afternoon exam. All students who do not have an exam in the afternoon will be allowed to leave the premises, once they have collected their hoodies.
The end of year leavers assembly will be held on Monday, 19th June at 12pm, following the final exam (Design and Technology). This will be a celebration of your child’s time at Workington Academy and a chance for them to be given their end of year awards. All students will be expected to attend the assembly as this is when they will be officially dismissed from school. This will be steamed live over the internet so that parents can watch, and a link to this will be sent to all via email. Additionally, all students must be in FULL UNIFORM for this assembly, following which students can sign shirts and have their photos taken. Hoodies can, of course, be worn after the assembly.
Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support over the past five years. We have faced many challenges together and this year group has continued to flourish regardless of this. We would like to wish all of our students the very best for their futures and look forward to seeing you all on results day.
