Dear Parents and Carers
As we approach the end of this academic year, I would like to remind you of the importance of your child attending Workington Academy, throughout all remaining days of this school year.
These days are not only essential for completing the curriculum and preparing for the next academic year, but also for celebrating the achievements and resilience of our students throughout this year.
We have a range of activities and events planned for students to enjoy and excel within, throughout this period, which are not only important for the academic and social development of our students, but also for their mental and emotional well-being. These activities tie in with our Cumbria Education Trust Be the Best You Can Be Focus Week and include; Sports Days, The CET Mile, Community Events, Curriculum Challenges, Enrichment Activities, Rewards and Celebrations Events.
Wednesday 19 July, will see students in all year groups have a dedicated rewards and celebration period, which will celebrate the successes and achievements of all students from throughout this term, (please see attached flyer).
These activities and events will provide your child with positive memories, meaningful connections, and a sense of closure and accomplishment in relation to this academic year.
In view of this, I urge you to ensure that your child attends Workington Academy for all remaining days of the school year, unless they have a valid reason for absence.
Our normal attendance procedures will continue to be followed every day up until and including the last day of term. Therefore, please do not be offended if your child is absent, that follow up contact is made or a home visit is conducted.
We have made excellent improvements in our attendance throughout this academic year and have received national recognition for this. I would like to thank you for your support in helping us to achieve this and in turn, helping to improve the outcomes and life chances of our students.
