I would just to take this opportunity to thank you all for the support that you have shown throughout this difficult time and to congratulate you all on the continued resilience displayed by our students and families
throughout what has been such an unprecedented time for us all.
To acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding work completed by our KS3 students during the school closure period within their own curriculum and individual subject tasks, we are changing things for the next three weeks to renew their focus and to give them the opportunity to continue to develop subject specific skills and knowledge linked to our local area.
Due to current restrictions in place SWI Direct Uniforms have recommend that all orders are placed on or before Monday 20th July ready for the start of term.
As of Monday 15 June, we will begin the phased wider re-opening of our academy by re-introducing face to face contact for our Year 10 and 12 students to help them to prepare for their examinations next year, in line with the UK Government guidance. As well as providing this important provision for our Year 10 and 12 students, we remain committed to providing essential childcare provision to support the students of our key workers.
As communicated with you last week, Year 12 face-to-face learning sessions will commence in the week beginning 15 June 2020.
As we get closer to welcoming more students in Year 10 and Year 12 back into the Academy we’ve created a short video on some of the changes we’ll be making to keep everybody safe.
We are pleased to offer our current Year 11 the opportunity to purchase leavers’ hoodies.
We are currently making the necessary plans, in line with Government guidance, as to “the possibility of providing some face to face contact with the young people in years 10 and 12 to help them prepare for examinations next year”.
Given the success of our Workington Academy Community Amarillo Video, we are launching our Amarillo Part 2 Challenge – to raise money for local key worker charities and to further support our fantastic Workington Community.
