Congratulations to Nathan Longstaff and Beth Smith in Year 9 who are this week’s Headteacher Learners of the Week. They are both nominated for their excellence in History where they have been studying World War I. Over the past academic year, Nathan has made big improvements in History, showing incredibly high levels of determination to improve his written work. He is now regularly putting out work above his target grade. He demonstrates a keen interest in the subject and a continual drive to improve his historical skills. Beth has consistently demonstrated a fantastic work ethic and engagement in her History lessons. She regularly shows high levels of resilience going back through her work to ensure it if of the highest standard, ensuring she takes on feedback to improve her work. Beth is also very keen on Performing Arts and has sung solos in school shows.
As well as a photo opportunity with Mr Bird, Learner of the Week winners get a certificate and a gold star pin badge which they can wear on their blazers for the rest of their time at the Academy.
