Our Year 7 girls’ rugby league team has achieved a fantastic milestone by winning the Year 7 Champion Schools County Rugby League Tournament, securing their place in the prestigious National Finals in May. The team showcased outstanding skill, resilience, and teamwork, finishing the tournament unbeaten with an impressive record of three wins and one draw.
Throughout the competition, the girls demonstrated exceptional attacking play, crossing the try line 20 times, while their disciplined and well-structured defence limited their opponents to just three tries. Their commitment to hard tackling, quick line speed, and solid teamwork played a crucial role in their success.
Each player gave their all, showing great determination and sportsmanship, but a special mention goes to Scarlette Dodgson, who was named Player of the Tournament for her relentless tackling, leadership, and work rate in both attack and defence.
This incredible achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of the entire squad. They now turn their focus to the National Finals in May, where they will represent the county against the best teams from across the country.
A massive congratulations to the team – we are all incredibly proud and can’t wait to see them compete on the national stage!
