Our Workington Academy Radio students had an incredible opportunity to visit the BBC at Media City in Salford, Manchester, a hub of creativity and broadcasting excellence!
During the visit, students explored behind the scenes of BBC Sport, BBC Breakfast, and Newsround, as well as the radio studios of BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Radio 6 Music. They saw the industry in action and gained a real insight into the fast-paced world of television and radio production.
A highlight of the day was the chance to speak directly with BBC employees, asking insightful questions about careers in media and discovering the many different paths available to break into the industry.
An inspiring day that’s left our students buzzing with ideas and ambition for the future!
