Dear Parents and Carers,
We are writing to inform you about the installation of a new electronic barrier at the front of the school, which is now in operation. This measure is part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all members of our school community.
The barrier is being introduced in line with our updated Car Park Policy, which outlines clear expectations for the safe and responsible use of the school car park by staff, visitors, and parents/carers. This policy also forms part of our wider risk assessment for the site.
Key Information for Parents and Carers:
- Access to the front of school is restricted to staff and authorised vehicles only. Parents/carers may not use this area unless they are registered Blue Badge holders and/or have received prior approval from the school.
- Disabled parking bays are reserved exclusively for staff, pupils, and parents/carers who are registered Blue Badge holders. To request access, please complete the application form (Appendix A) and return it to the school office.
- Possession of a disabled parking certificate alone does not grant access. Permanent access will only be granted if the parent/carer is required to leave their vehicle when dropping off or collecting a pupil.
- All vehicles must adhere to a strict 5 mph speed limit while on site.
- Drop-off and pick-up should take place at the designated turning circle. The staff car park and disabled bays must not be used for this purpose without prior authorisation.
- The barrier must be used safely and correctly. Please wait for it to open fully before entering or exiting the site.
- Home to School Transport: Designated school buses will continue to use the turning circle for drop-off before 8:25am and pick-up after 3:15pm.
We kindly ask all parents and carers to familiarise themselves with the full Car Park Policy, below. Your cooperation is essential in helping us maintain a safe and orderly environment for everyone.
If you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours faithfully,
Blake Hendren
Deputy Headteacher
