We’re incredibly proud to share that Thomas, in Year 7, has been nominated to stand as Cumberland’s (West) next Member of Youth Parliament (MYP).
Thomas is passionate about representing young people and making sure their voices are heard. In his manifesto he talks about the importance of listening to others and creating positive change for young people across our area.
Some of Thomas’ ideas include:
• Creating more safe places for teenagers to spend time together
• Encouraging more outdoor activities for young people to help reduce screen time
• Promoting reading campaigns for teenagers to support communication, confidence and wellbeing
Thomas has already shown fantastic confidence and communication skills through his involvement with Workington Academy Radio, and we are delighted to see him putting himself forward to represent young people across Cumberland.
