Dear Parents and Carers
I hope this message finds you well.
In light of the recent rise in temperatures, we are making a temporary adjustment to our uniform expectations to ensure students remain comfortable during the school day. We are also taking all reasonable steps, in line with DfE guidance, to ensure our school building remains as cool as possible.
Students are not required to wear their blazers while these warmer conditions persist. However, all other elements of the school uniform remain in place.
This includes:
• White shirt
• School tie
• Black trousers or WA skirt
We believe that a white cotton shirt remains the coolest and most appropriate attire for school under these conditions, while maintaining our usual high standards.
In addition, we will be more flexible with students keeping their water bottles with them and topped up throughout the day, so that they can stay well hydrated.
We would also appreciate your support in ensuring that students have all of their equipment with them in their bags each day, so that learning can continue smoothly during this period.
These uniform adaptations will be in place until Friday 26 June, and we will review this guidance again at the end of the week.
We appreciate your support in ensuring that students continue to meet our uniform expectations while adapting sensibly to the warmer weather.
Thank you for your understanding and I hope yourself and your families are able to take full advantage of this glorious weather.
Please don’t forget the sunscreen!
Yours sincerely,
Blake Hendren
Deputy Headteacher
