West Coast Sixth Form – A Level Results 2026

13th August 2026

“Cumbrian schools are proud to serve our children, their families and the communities they come from. Results this year demonstrate yet again the resilience of Cumbrian youngsters and their dedication to their studies. The achievements of the students are all the more special for the challenges many families have faced due to the cost of living crisis and we congratulate them all on the manner in which they have conducted themselves in what continues to be extraordinary times.”

“We know that the majority of students will be pleased with their results and will have the keys to go onto to their anticipated destinations in September. Their results reflect their hard work, their dedication and the support they received from their teachers and families.”

“Today is about celebrating some of the incredible achievements of our young people. It is for this reason that we like to recognise the individual success stories below and congratulate all the young people on their achievements today and wish them all the very best for the future.”

Nigel Youngman Headteacher at The Whitehaven Academy and and Mark Bedford, Executive Headteacher at Workington Academy commented, “We are proud of the achievements of all our students across both campuses at West Coast Sixth Form. These results demonstrate hard work and commitment alongside a strong determination to succeed. The vast majority of our students are moving successfully onto the next stage, whether that be by starting at university or an apprenticeship. We are grateful to The Access Project for their work in enabling students to secure places at Russel Group universitites. We would like to thank families and colleagues for their support in achieving these examination results. Alongside these impressive results there were lots of positive outcomes at both sites in Year 12 as the West Coast Sixth Form expands and goes from strength to strength.”

Congratulations to all of our students and good luck with the next chapter, whether it be university, apprenticeships, or entering the workforce. You should be proud of your achievements – your hard work and determination are promising indicators of a bright future. Thank you also goes to all of our staff across the Trust, who have supported and guided our students – we are so thankful for your hard work and dedication.  We look forward to welcoming back our Year 11 students next Thursday for their GCSE results.
