Team Around the Year Group 2026/27

9th September 2026

At Workington Academy, we want every pupil to feel safe, supported and that they belong. Strong relationships are at the heart of our school community, and our pastoral structure ensures that every young person has trusted adults around them who know them well and can offer support, guidance and encouragement throughout the school year.

Our Team Around the Year Group approach brings together the key members of staff supporting each year group, including Form Tutors, Directors and Deputy Directors of Learning, Year Group Managers, safeguarding and wellbeing staff, attendance support and members of the Senior Leadership Team.

The information below introduces the teams supporting Years 7 to 11 and Sixth Form during 2026/27. We hope it also makes it easier for parents and carers to know who to contact if they have a question, concern or information they would like to share.

Your child’s Form Tutor, Director of Learning, Deputy Director of Learning and Year Group Manager are normally the first points of contact. Email is often the quickest way to get in touch, although families are also welcome to contact the Academy on 01900 873926 and ask for their child’s Year Group Team.

This is your school. These are your people. This is your place.
