Last week, the art department hosted the annual Workington Academy Art Exhibition. Work from all year groups was on display in the Activities studio and the drama studio.
The video shows some of the work produced by our 6th form that was placed in the Drama studio – this installation work was produced by Liam Sharp (First image of a light inspired by construction, Emily Newton created the animation that looks at water pollution, Ashton Humphreys created the sculpture that was based on the history of her family and their love of dance. Alex Nixon has the video and handmade barrier that is inspired by research into migration. The white dresses are samples towards Fiona Taylor’s final outcome that was on display in the activities space and the final piece with the washing line and handmade book was created by Kiera Benzie and is about stereotypes, expectations and reality.
