This week, the Workington Academy’s ‘Passport to Success’ has been launched to all Year 7 students. The aim of this scheme is to encourage our students to become active members of their community by completing a range of non-academic tasks, both at school and at home. The tasks are designed to encourage pupils to increase their confidence, challenge themselves and foster the school’s ethos of, ‘Respect, Responsibility and Resilience’. The pupils are extremely excited to be part of this initiative and have already started to complete some of the tasks. One of the tasks is to make friends with another student who they have yet to speak to. Olivia and Jessica submitted a photograph of themselves shortly after making friends and have found out that they have lots in common!
The passports will be brought home on a regular basis to allow parents to sign any completed tasks off and return them back to school. Evidence can also be submitted to the Firefly page, via the school website. We are looking forward to celebrating the success of this and seeing all of the wonderful evidence provided by our students. Good luck!
