Headteacher Learner of the Week

10th May 2019

Congratulations to this week’s winners, Y7 students Karmen and Erin-Nicole.

Karmen was a student ambassador at the Y6-7 Pre Admission Evening on Wednesday where she planned her own speech to deliver to our visitors in the hall, giving a fantastic account about her Year 7 experience. Staff and visitors commented on how clearly and confidently she spoke in such a full assembly hall and the positive atmosphere that she helped to create at the event. Additionally, Karmen is excelling in lessons. She currently has 122 reward points and no behaviour points. She has 100% attendance this academic year.

Erin-Nicole is nominated for excellence in German where she achieved a score of 97% in her recent exam, making her the top performing Year 7 student in this subject. She is also achieving well in her other subjects and has been awarded 128 reward points by staff for her efforts. Erin-Nicole plays a full part in school life and has represented the academy at Netball, Cross Country, Athletics and Rugby. She has also been involved in the organisation of a number of charity and whole school events and has been an ambassador for Workington Academy on a number of occasions, including being a Guest Judge at a local Primary School competition.
