We have been catching up with some outstanding students who have been awarded Headteacher Learner of the Week recently.
Receiving the award for June 28 are Y10 students, Logan Hailes and Anna Bowden. Logan has been excelling in Computer Science where he has performed exceptionally throughout the year and in particular when tackling the NEA programming project. Anna is nominated for excellence in Science where she recently achieved a grade 9 in her Year 10 Physics exam, which was a full GCSE paper. She has worked tirelessly to understand every piece of work, demonstrating great resilience and is an excellent role model for her peers. Anna has 100% attendance for the academic year and represents the school in Netball.
Receiving the award for July 5 are Matthew White from Year 7 and Annabel Hadfield from Year 10. Matthew has been excelling in Computing where he has produced great work on his scratch project. He also enjoys maths and can recite Pi to an impressive 30 decimal places. Matthew has 100% attendance for this academic year. Annabel is also nominated for her work in Computer Science where she received an excellent grade in the recent Data Representation topic. She also enjoys programming at home, where she has been working hard on her NEA project. She also enjoys studying maths.
As well as a photo opportunity with Mr Bird, Learner of the Week winners get a certificate and a gold star pin badge which they can wear on their blazers for the rest of their time at the Academy.
