Recently, some of our year 12 students attended a motivational talk organised by Morgan Sindall at Whitehaven Golf Club. Cathy O’Dowd spoke about the challenges of mountain exploration and the use of teamwork and decision making to achieve the best outcome possible on her expeditions.
Cathy used personal mountain experiences to deliver useful techniques that transferred well to both the business environment and student aspirations in regard to teamwork and team management.
Cathy demonstrated that failure can be a good thing- challenging yourself, but accepting that you have reached your personal limitation, then amending your goal in order to achieve the aim of being the ‘best you can be’.
