The West Coast Sixth Form is joint post 16 provision formed by the collaboration between The Whitehaven Academy and Workington Academy. Both schools are proud members of CET.
The Headteacher of Workington Academy, Mark Bedford said:

The achievements of the students are all the more special for the challenges many families have faced due to the cost of living crisis, and we congratulate them all on the manner in which they have conducted themselves in what continues to be extraordinary times.”

We are incredibly proud of the students who have achieved the results required to move on to university, apprenticeships or into employment and we wish them well for the future. More so than ever, students have been faced with adversity, the challenge of level 3 study is never easy, but the skills and strategies our young people have developed during their time in sixth form will ensure that the continue to be successful and resilient throughout their life.’’

The Headteacher of Whitehaven Academy, Nigel Youngman added:

One of the pleasures of being part of Cumbrian Education Trust is being part of a dedicated team of professionals who have supported our students to achieve success within a such a warm community. A huge thank you to colleagues and families alike for their support. It is exciting to think about the opportunities that these results have opened up for our students. Logan Agnew – Biology A, Chemistry A, Physics A and AS maths A : is starting a Pharmacy Technician apprenticeship.
Luke Kendal – Geography A, Media Distinction*, Applied Science Distinction*, EPQ A : is starting a Degree Apprenticeship in Tech Solution with Sellafield.
Ellie Ritchie – Art A*, English Lit A, Media Distinction*, EPQ A: is starting a Degree Apprenticeship in Project Management with Sellafield.
Libby Regan- Health and Social Care Distinction*, Sports Studies Distinction* and Applied Science Distinction – to start an apprenticeship in Health Physics at Sellafield.
