Dear Parents/carers and students.
We are now less than 100 school days until the start of GCSE exams this summer.
These exams are vital for every student’s future, and we know that a strong set of GCSE results supports success going forward into sixth form, an apprenticeship and beyond.
When we speak to students, they always tell us that the three biggest barriers are:
- Knowing how to revise
- Knowing what to revise
- Knowing when to start revision.
To make sure we have removed all barriers to revision success, every subject has planned a ‘100 Days Revision Plan’ for all students. This breaks each subject down into small tasks and revision snippets. Completing these tasks on a weekly basis will prepare students for their upcoming trial exams and their GCSE exams that start in May.
All these plans are available to parents as well, so that you can see what your child should be working on for each subject on a weekly basis. They are located here on our website https://www.workingtonacademy.org/parents/student-support-curriculum/.
When we review exam performance with ex-students, the one key regret they always state is that they wish they had started revising earlier. These resources produced by our subjects will support your child in being able to do exactly that and to go on and achieve the results they deserve.
If you have any questions in how to access these or any other revision resources, please contact me using the details on this letter.
Yours Faithfully
Mr Simpson
