Dear Parents and Carers,
We are writing to share important information about what your child will be learning this half-term at Workington Academy, as well as to highlight the wide range of enrichment clubs and opportunities available to our students.
Curriculum Overview
At Workington Academy, we offer a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum designed to develop students’ knowledge, skills and character. Each half-term, students build on prior learning across all subjects.
Detailed information about what your child will be studying in each subject area this half-term can be found on our website at: https://www.workingtonacademy.org/curriculum/
We encourage parents and carers to explore this page, as it provides a clear overview of subject content and how learning progresses across year groups.
Enrichment and Extra-Curricular Opportunities
Alongside our academic curriculum, we strongly believe in the importance of enrichment activities to support personal development, wellbeing and wider life skills. Students at Workington Academy have access to a wide range of clubs, activities and enrichment opportunities, including sport, creative arts, academic support, leadership roles and special interest clubs.
Up-to-date information on our extra-curricular and enrichment offer can be found here: https://www.workingtonacademy.org/parents/extra-curricular-and-enrichment-opportunities/
We strongly encourage all students to take part in enrichment activities, as these experiences help to build confidence, resilience, teamwork and a sense of belonging within our school community.
Thank you for your continued support. Should you have any questions about the curriculum or enrichment opportunities, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Yours faithfully,
Mr Holliday
