Dear Parents/Carers
As explained previously, the National Education Union (NEU), in accordance with the provisions of the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act 1992, are calling upon their members to strike. The proposed industrial action will take place on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March 2023.
To determine if there will be the need for a full or partial closure on these days, we have undertaken a Risk Assessment and I am writing to confirm our arrangements for Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March 2023.
The Academy will be open to Vulnerable Groups (all years) and Year 11, 12 and 13 only on 15th and 16th March 2023. Students in Year 7,8,9 and 10 should not come to school on that day.
For students who are not in school work will be set online. This will be available from Tuesday 14th March 2023 to allow parents and carers to support with the completion of these tasks.
All online work will be set on EdulinkOne, parents and carers who are unable to access this platform should contact the school reception for support.
If you are classed as a critical worker, and despite best efforts you are set to experience childcare issues on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March 2023, please contact the school reception to see if any extraordinary provision can be provided.
We appreciate that industrial action is disruptive, and you may need to change your plans or working arrangements, whilst this action is ongoing. However, ensuring the health and safety of our students must take priority.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
Yours faithfully,
Mark Bedford
Head of School
