Miss Tweddle and Mrs Wilson accompanied a group of thirty Year 7 students to Newcastle University who had been selected to take part in their annual ‘UniVenture’ event.
Some of our Year 7 students share their pledges that were then displayed on a notice board outside of the main school hall in the community entrance.
Our Year 7 Performance and Rewards Assembly took place on Thursday, 19 December, to mark the end of our Year 7 students first full term at Secondary School.
On Wednesday, 11 September 2019, we celebrated the successes of our current Year 8 students for their achievements throughout Year 7, in their first academic year at Workington Academy.
I would like to inform you about the importance of your child’s upcoming internal exams that are taking place in the week commencing Monday, 25 March 2019.
This event is designed to give Year 7 students an insight into what going to university entails and to inform them about different university courses and opportunities, as well as building aspirations around continuing into higher education.
This week, the Workington Academy’s ‘Passport to Success’ has been launched to all Year 7 students.

Next week will be incredibly busy and there are many opportunities for our students that will enrich their school experience and benefit both our school and local community.
