After just one day of the spring term, it is all change again! You will all know by now that remote learning will be in place until the February half term.
During each student’s period of remote learning we’ll be holding daily tutor sessions for them from 08.40 each day, on Microsoft Teams.
As you are aware, for the first week of term your learning will be completed at home, through a mixture of Teams lessons and resources on Firefly.
For students Accessing Workington Academy Hub Provision from Monday 04 January 2021
You may well be aware that this evening the Secretary of State for Education has announced a material change to the arrangements made for the start of term.
The Government yesterday afternoon updated its guidance regarding the start of term in January and has advised that secondary schools in England should not fully re-open to all students and staff following the Christmas holidays until Monday 11 January.
The final instalment of our Virtual Christmas Concert – The Christmas Carol
Once again, it has been a very busy term at Workington Academy. Despite all the challenges facing the students this term, student behaviour, attitudes and responsibility have been exemplary and in spite of many different and sometimes difficult circumstances, there is much to celebrate across all year groups.
We were delighted to be able to offer all of our students a Christmas lunch free of change this year. This has only been possible due to the generosity of the Workington Community.
