With the GCSE exams well underway, I am writing to update you about when students are expected to be in school.
Time is very precious now and we want to ensure that our students have every opportunity to work closely with teaching staff to prepare as thoroughly as possible for the examinations. Therefore there will be a programme of revision sessions running during half-term.
I would like to inform you about the importance of your child’s upcoming internal exams that are taking place in the week commencing Monday 8 May 2017.
Our school has been given the opportunity to take part in a new pilot project that will run in partnership between Cumbria County Council, Cumbria’s Local Children’s Safeguarding Hub and Cumbria Police.
We are delighted to inform you that our new building will be ready to welcome students on Thursday 2 March 2017.
On Wednesday 1 February we are holding a World of Work morning for all Year 11 students.
After careful consideration the Trustees of William Howard Trust have agreed a change to the name of the William Howard Trust to Cumbria Education Trust.
When we move to our new building, we will introduce a cashless catering system.
As we approach the end of a busy and successful Autumn term, I would like to thank you all for the very warm welcome that I have received during my first few weeks in West Cumbria.
